We are currently operating our half-day experiences – Adelaide City Kayak Tour, Rock Climb and Abseil at Morialta and Onkaparinga, Mount Lofty Adventure Hub Experience and Southern Adventure Hub Experience.  We intend to bring back our longer duration experiences once travel restrictions have been eased.

Each of our experiences have different minimum ages.

Adelaide City Kayak Tour

Minimum age – 8 years (with an adult attending)

Children under 12 years must be in double kayak with an adult

Rock Climb & Abseil (Morialta & Onkaparinga)

  • Ages 12 years + can go on the experience. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Minimum Weight: 25kg – Maximum Weight: 120kg
  • Minimum Height: 120cm

Mount Lofty Adventure Hub

  • Ages 8 years + can go on the experience. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Minimum Weight: 25kg – Maximum Weight: 120kg

  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • If you would like to watch your child’s experience we have no problem you watching from a safe vantage point.  You will need to stay clear of the activity in progress and have no interference on the safe operation or others participation.
  • This means you cannot go on the equipment or it the activity zone.

  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • We will conduct the activity for your child, however you must take ultimate responsibility.
  • We will remove your child from the activity if they are deemed to be non-compliant and or a safety risk.
What weather do you operate in?2021-04-15T07:06:41+00:00

We operate in most weather conditions, including rain.  We have been doing this a long time and understand safe operating conditions.  If we are concerned, we will stop, pause, delay or shorten the session for a break in weather.

If we assess the weather to be unsafe, Earth Adventure may have to cancel or postpone/delay the session.  We will attempt to do this prior to the day.  On the actual day of service, weather conditions may still require our immediate intervention.

Extreme weather conditions where Earth Adventure may have to cancel or postpone/delay include:

  • Fire Danger Ratings where it is extreme or catastrophic in the experience locations or if there are any fires near the experience locations that would make it unsafe
  • Severe Thunderstorms & lightning
  • Extreme Temperature (hot or cold)
  • Severe Wind
  • Flooding

If we have to change the session, we will offer the next time slot or cancel providing the opportunity for rescheduling.

Where do I meet for Rock Climbing at Morialta2021-04-15T07:13:57+00:00

Please meet at the gate entrance to the Morialta Rock Climbing Area on Norton Summit Road. It is marked on Google Maps as ‘Climbers Track’. There is a small amount of street parking opposite.

Please meet in the carpark at Gate 15 of Onkaparinga River National Park on Chapel Hill Road. It is marked on Google Maps as ‘River Walk- Onkaparinga Gorge’

Where do I meet for the Adelaide City Kayak Tour?2024-04-22T06:01:00+00:00

This tour departs from Pinky Flat on the north shore of the River Torrens. Please meet here 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session time.

Please be aware there is no parking on site, the closest public parking option is located on War Memorial Drive and is ticketed. There is limited parking here so we recommend leaving yourself enough time to find a carpark and walk down to Pinky Flat.

Where is the Mount Lofty Adventure Hub?2021-04-15T07:14:23+00:00

The Mount Lofty Adventure Hub is located within Woodhouse Activity Centre at 37 Spring Gully Road, Piccadilly SA 5151.  It is about 25 minutes from Adelaide.

I’m on my way to Mount Lofty Adventure Hub and I am at the boom gate at the entrance to Woodhouse, what do I do now?2021-04-15T07:15:25+00:00
  • If you are only entering the property for our Rock Climb, Abseil and Zipline (RAZ) or Rock Climb, Abseil, Zipline and Mega Swing (RAZ+Swing) experience you do not need to pay day entry.
  • You are still required to check in at reception though for fire management.
  • If you are wanting to spend the day at Woodhouse you can purchase a day entry upon arrival at reception and they will provide you with a wrist band to indicate this.
If I book the Mount Lofty Adventure Hub experiences, can I stay and use the Woodhouse facilities?2021-04-15T07:16:35+00:00

Where is the Southern Adventure Hub?2021-04-15T07:17:10+00:00

The Southern Adventure Hub is located within the Girl Guides SA Douglas Scrub Campsite at 216 Douglas Gully Road, Blewitt Springs SA 5171. It is about 45 minutes from Adelaide. When you are travelling along Douglas Gully Road, the entry gate is just opposite Woodstock Wine Estate. The guide will meet you there and direct you to the parking area and the activity location.

What is your cancellation/ change of date policy?2021-04-15T07:18:42+00:00

Cancellations or Change of date requests must be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled booking in order to receive any refund or change of date.  For the full cancellation policy please check your terms and conditions on your booking form.  To change your booking call us on 8165 2024 or email [email protected] a minimum of 48 hours before your tour is scheduled to run.

Cancellation of Tour or Service (By You) – If you cancel a booking we will apply a charge.  These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel or the session has commenced.  Fees will also be charged where a booking is changed or re-scheduled and we incur a fee or are liable for an external charge associated with your change.

Cancellation Fees for all tours are:

Day Tours

  • More than 30 days prior to departure: $20 administration fee.
  • 72 hours – 30 days prior to departure: 25% fee of total booking price.
  • 48 – 72 hours prior to departure: 50% fee of total booking price.
  • 24 – 48 hours prior to departure: 75% fee of total booking price.
  • Less than 24 hours prior to departure: 100% fee of total booking price.

Extended Tours

  • More than 30 days prior to departure: $20 administration fee.
  • 22 – 30 days prior to departure: 25% fee of total booking price.
  • 15 – 21 days prior to departure: 50% fee of total booking price.
  • Less than 14 days prior to departure: 100% fee of total booking price.

  • Earth Adventure operates a no-refund policy for all cancellations within 24 hours, non-attendances, late attendance, and failure to participate.
  • Management reserves the right to make exceptions if it chooses.
  • If in the instance, WE need to rescheduled due to safety (extreme weather conditions etc.) We will offer to reschedule your session to another available timeslot, as a last resort, if this is not possible we can provide a refund.

  • Earth Adventure reserves the right to cancel a tour or service at any time prior to departure should operational considerations outside of its control dictate (i.e. mechanical breakdown, staff sickness).
  • If this occurs you can transfer to an alternate departure date or alternatively receive a full refund of your booking price.

  • All bookings are made through our webpage using a third party secure online booking system Rezdy.
  • Session times show what is available. If availability appears in the drop down for the day you want, then go for it.  If not, please select another date.
  • Some people book in through an online travel agency webpage (e.g. Red Balloon, Adrenalin, Viator) who charge a fee and or commission for the booking.

  • You are required to sign a waiver when you arrive at the experience. You will need to arrive 15 minutes before your booking.  If you arrive late, you will miss your session. You can complete the waiver here if you’d like to do it before!
  • We are very strict regarding safe participation. If you are deemed to be acting in an unsafe manner or non-compliant you will be removed from the activity and lose your booking.

  • Only processed bookings can be accepted. This means you book on line and then receive the full details via email immediately following the payment of your booking.  If you do not receive this, please contact our office straight away.
  • Once you receive your email, please review the details of your booking, taking note of the starting time and location map.
  • Please check the terms and conditions included to ensure you have no surprises. We will contact you via email up to the day prior to your experience if any changes affect your booking.  Please contact us if you will not be checking your email or have any concerns about these details.

That’s okay, it happens sometimes and good on you for coming along and giving it a go! However, if you are not able to start or complete the experience because of fear or you change your mind, please note tickets are non-refundable.

  • We have a very tight schedule. If you arrive late, you will likely miss out and lose your booking.  We will do the best we can to assist you to join into the session if we can.  This will unfortunately not extend your experience time.
  • We ask people to be there 15 minutes before hand to prevent this.
  • Please note tickets are non-refundable.

  • The short answer is no. Safety first!
  • We reserve the right to refuse access to the tour should you be deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, show aggressive, dangerous or threatening behaviour.
  • It is your responsibility to participate safely and not be intoxicated.

We would like participants to be free of any medical conditions, that could be worsened by physical activity. It is your responsibility not to book into a session if you have any of these conditions

We recommend that you consult a health professional if you have the following, before booking**:

  • Back Pain or Chronic Back Pain
  • Panic/Anxiety Attacks

  • We ask you to take care while participating in our physical activities. Walking around on uneven surfaces with multiple tripping hazards is normal in nature.  You need to take care.
  • Our activities involve physical activity and equipment. Therefore, there’s a chance for knocks, cuts, abrasions or bruises that come with physical activity in nature.
  • In addition, climbing ladders, sitting in harnesses and other safety equipment can be uncomfortable and pinch sometimes.

  • Our office is in the city and we are open 9am – 5pm on Monday – Friday. Our office is not open during the weekend but you can call our office number to be transferred to our emergency contact.
  • As all the information about our experiences is online and bookings are all made online, we only accept emergency calls for legitimate issues.

  • You certainly do.
  • This includes complying with the normal rules of non-participation if you are sick, been in a COVID hotspot or have been overseas in the last 14 days, etc.

  • Where it is safe we also disinfect all our equipment
  • You’re more than welcome to bring your own hair net or wear your own soft hat (non-baseball or trucker hat) underneath your helmet for extra protection!

  • You can bring your own helmet as long as it is of legal standard, but we need you to use our harnesses and other climbing equipment, we have rules about testing and use of equipment and therefore must only use our equipment.

As we register our kayaks for use on the river we are unable to allow participants to use their own kayaks during the tour.

What is the kayaking route?2021-04-15T07:35:05+00:00

The tour remains in the Torrens Lake area, generally between the weir and Frome Road. Some tours may not travel as far due to limiting conditions. For example, during the warmer months we don’t paddle past the Adelaide University footbridge due to Grey-headed Flying-foxes swooping down to the river to keep cool and get a drink.

What exactly do I get to do during my booking at Mount Lofty Adventure Hub?2021-04-15T07:35:51+00:00
  • The service we deliver is a taster of the different activities. At minimum, it is one go on the zip line, one climb and optional abseil, this session runs for approximately 60 minutes.  If you book the package that includes the MegaSwing it will include one turn of this as well and the session will run for approximately 90 minutes.
  • The time slots we have allocated to the activities are to allow for our maximum group size of 12 people to complete the activities in the allocated time slot. Sometimes we may have less numbers and it is up to the discretion of the leader to allow more than one attempt.
  • The leaders must be ready to greet the new clients well before the next session begins.

  • The service we deliver is a taster of the different activities. At minimum, it is one go on the high ropes course as well as rock climbing. This session runs for approximately 80 minutes.
  • The time slots we have allocated to the activities are to allow for our maximum group size of 8 people to complete the activities in the allocated time slot. Sometimes we may have less numbers and it is up to the discretion of the leader to allow more than one attempt.
  • The leaders must be ready to greet the new clients well before the next session begins.

  • In the unlikely event of you falling in, bring a towel along just in case.
  • We prefer to use 2-person kayaks as these are easier to use and virtually impossible to capsize. If you’re in a single kayak, they are also pretty hard to capsize, so you should be fine. You’ll be pleased to hear we haven’t had anyone fall in on our tours yet!

  • For all our experiences don’t wear anything you’d be worried about getting dirty!
  • Closed toed shoes are a must.
  • Think sun-smart clothing – long pants are a good idea and best suited to most activities.
  • You will moving, so active, outdoor style clothing is best

All of our experiences are designed for a beginner level experience (but you don’t have to be a beginner to still have fun) and are suitable for all levels of fitness.

  • You sure can!
  • Earth Adventure is not liable for any damage that may be incurred should it fall off or be damaged while you are undertaking an activity.
  • If you share them on social media, please tag us @earthadventure, we love seeing your pics!
  • If you’re rock climbing at one of our adventure hubs it might be best to see if someone else can take pictures of you while you’re actually climbing or participating, but otherwise snap away!
  • While we’re talking about photos, sometimes Earth Adventure will capture photos and videos during an experience to use for advertising or promotional purposes. Consent is gained when you sign the online waiver.  If you take a photo please check if other participants are ok with it.

  • Absolutely, as long as it’s securely attached and doesn’t impact on your safety or the safety of your equipment.
  • Earth Adventure is not liable for any damage that may be incurred should it fall off or be damaged while you are undertaking an activity.

  • We firmly believe in leaving no trace when we’re out and about in our beautiful state.
  • To borrow a phrase – we take only photographs and leave only footprints.
  • We take all our rubbish with us (and pick up rubbish if we find it) and we leave wildlife alone, we don’t feed them or try to pat them.
  • We stay on designated paths and in areas that we are permitted to use when we are in National Parks or Conservation Parks.
